Virgin is launching its new line of Comic Books based on Ramaayan.
According to Virgin, it is "Asia's Lord of the Rings".

Absolutely fantastic... :-)

The press release:

"The Company believes that in the next decade, Asia will become one of the largest producers, as well as the largest consumers, of entertainment products. Virgin Comics intends to look to Asia, and India in particular, as both a growing market for consumers of entertainment products and also a source for unique, innovative content to be brought to the world in comics and licensing into movies, animation, toys, video games and consumer products."

Deepak Chopra commented on the venture “I am thrilled and excited to be working with Richard Branson and Virgin. I consider Richard a true visionary and believe together, through Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation, we will forge new mythologies bringing together east and west. At the forefront of this movement will be new minds, new voices, and new talents that will re-invent the stories that unite us, and that we live by.” Shekhar Kapur described his bold vision by adding, “I see the future. I miss going out and spending time with myself. I don't even remember when was the last time I did that. But what I do remember that it was good... ;-) And I was good to me.
